How to Run PBA Dupr Format

What is this format?

PBA Dupr Format is a social doubles pickleball night where everyone gets to play with different partners. Players are split across multiple courts and play a mini round-robin on their court. After each round, the best players move up toward Court 1 (King's Court)and the others drop down — so the level on every court gets closer and closer as the night goes on. It's competitive, social, and fair.

Create a Session

  • Log in as admin and click New Session.
  • Give it a name (e.g. "Friday Night"), set the date, choose how many players you expect, and hit Start.
  • The app will automatically work out how many courts you need.

Get Players Registered

  • Show players the QR code on the dashboard — they scan it on their phone and enter their name.
  • Or share the join link and they can open it in a browser.
  • You'll see each player appear in the queue as they register.

Assign Players to Courts

  • Once everyone is in, tap Auto-Assign and the app will spread players evenly across courts.
  • If you want to move someone manually, just drag their name from one court to another.
  • Each court needs at least 4 players to play.

Start the Round

  • Tap Start Round 1 and the app generates the match draw for each court.
  • Each court gets its own round-robin schedule — every player will partner with every other player on their court exactly once across the games.
  • The schedule appears on each court card.

Play the Games & Enter Scores

  • Players head to their assigned court and play the games in order.
  • After each game, tap Score next to that game and enter the final score.
  • The app tracks wins, losses, and point differences for everyone on the court.

Close the Round

  • Once all games on all courts are scored, tap Close Round.
  • This locks the scores so nothing can be changed accidentally.
  • The standings update to show who played well on each court.

Generate the Next Round

  • Tap Generate Next Round and choose how players move:
  • "Move Players (Kings Court)" — the top 2 on each court move up to the next court, and the bottom 2 drop down. The best players work their way up to Court 1, which is the King's Court.
  • "Keep Same Courts" — everyone stays on the same court but gets new pairings.
  • Then repeat from Step 5 for as many rounds as you like.

Export Results (Optional)

  • When the night is done, tap DUPR Export to download a CSV file.
  • You can submit this file directly to DUPR so all players' ratings get updated automatically.

Late player arriving?

No problem. During a round, tap Late Entry on their court, pick their name, and the draw is automatically regenerated to include them — the games already played are kept, and the late player is treated as having sat those out.

Who serves first?

Use the Coin Toss on the Score page — tap the coin to flip heads or tails.

Players entering their own scores?

Direct them to the Score page (/score) on their phone. They can find their court, tap Score, and enter the result themselves.
